Jeffrey Stewart, owner of Mesilla Valley Pharmacy, is a young entrepreneur driven by a passion for innovation and community. A proud Las Cruces native, his journey began at Onate High School before he pursued pharmacy at UNM College of Pharmacy and an MBA at the Anderson School of Management. With a focus on improving systems, Jeffrey brings a fresh perspective to his work, embodying hope for a brighter future in both business and beyond. Supported by a loving family, Jeffrey looks forward to bringing his expertise to the SNMDO board.

Selena Gomez, BPH Executive Director
Selena completed an Associate of Science degree and Certificate in Community Health Work at Dona Ana Community College in May 2019. She then joined Southern New Mexico Diabetes Outreach as the Assistant Executive Director while attending New Mexico State University. In her undergraduate studies, Selena was a student intern with Dona Ana County Health and Human Services, and the Association of State Public Health Nutritionists (ASPHN) Health Equity Internship and graduated in the ASPHN Fall 2021 Cohort. Shortly after, Selena earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health and advanced to the position of Executive Director in July 2022. Selena has 6 years experience working in the Public Health sector and is passionate about diabetes wellness, health education, and health promotion. She is also a preceptor for New Mexico State University and Dona Ana Community College Public Health Programs.

TJ joined Southern New Mexico Diabetes Outreach in 2016 after retiring from Memorial Medical Center, where he had been a Registered Nurse for over 40 years. TJ served as a Diabetes Care and Education Specialist with in-patient and out-patient diabetes programs at both Memorial Medical Center and First Step Women’s Health in the last 20 years before his retirement from the hospital. He now leads the Diabetes Self-Management Education classes and Adult Diabetes Education Group.

Youth Diabetes Peer Support Specialist
As a lifelong New Mexican, Bianca has devoted the last 13 years of her professional career striving towards improving access to healthcare and addressing barriers around the state. Bianca grew up in Tierra Amarilla, NM where, as a young girl she learned the value of hard work and determination.
She later attended the University of New Mexico where she received her B.A in Mass Communications and Spanish. Shortly after UNM, Bianca relocated to Las Cruces where she earned her Master’s in Public Health from New Mexico State University. Throughout her professional career, though primarily focused on the healthcare sector, her experiences range from care coordination, non-for-profit administration, to business development, as well as, healthcare quality improvement through provider engagement. Most recently, Bianca works for a large Managed Care organization helping improve health equity in Southern New Mexico Bianca remains committed to serving New Mexico and hopes to continue to make a positive impact in her community and is excited to work alongside the Southern New Mexico Diabetes Outreach team.
